Michaels experience ranges from Big Budget Advertising and International Cinema to High profile Prime Time TV Movies and Low Budget Advertising. His ability to converse in English, German, Italian and Maltese (a semitic/arabic dialect) and a working knowledge of French add to his ability to coordinate international crews.


Although Michael has also worked in the Production Department in all capacities, he is essentially a creative person and in December 2000, Michael successfully completed a Directors training course with Mark Travis – UCLA - DGA.
In 2009 Michael completed a EU Media/FFA Berlin sponsored Course in Line Producing.


Primarily working as a 1st Assistant Director, Michaels experience expands the Globe, having assisted in various productions filming in Canada, New Zealand, Caribbean; Central America; the USA; Morocco, Germany, Austria, Ireland; Italy; Venice and the UK.

After living in Germany and working in the German film industry for 20 years, Michael has  reallocated back to Malta. 


In the summer of 2017 Michael produced his first movie. a 93 minute Film in the maltese language for cinema release.. In 2020 Michael produced a 10 episode series for TV and both will be available on VOD.

Michael has lived in Malta, Rome, Paris, London and Germany, he has been working in the film business since 1979 and began his career with “Popeye” a Paramount / Walt Disney Production, Directed by Robert Altman.
His training as a 1st AD took off under Carlo Cotti - then Franco Zeffirelli’s 1st AD. Since then Michael has worked constantly with all nationalities that boast a film Industry.
